Disco is a roughly 4-year-old Spaniel mix I adopted from Oakland Animal Services about 3 years ago. He is extremely sweet, affectionate, and adorable—he loves playing fetch, jumping into your lap, or curling up on the couch to watch TV. Weighing about 10 lbs, Disco has very soft blonde fur and cute naturally crimped ear hairs. While he can be wary of new people, especially men, he becomes super sweet and affectionate once he warms up, eagerly seeking pets and showing off his tricks.
After city living for the last 3 years, Disco needs a quiet suburban or rural home with a yard. He has leash reactivity issues and is sensitive to outside sounds. Currently, we live in an apartment where constant activity stresses him out. Disco needs a peaceful environment where he can relax, run around, and sniff without stress. He is crate-trained and can be left alone for 4-5 hours, though he does have some separation anxiety that additional training might help. Ideally, he would live with someone who is home most of the time. We’ve worked with several trainers and determined that his current noisy city environment is too stressful for him.
Disco does okay with other dogs his size (off-leash) and can go to daycare or boarding, though he mostly keeps to himself and would benefit from more socializing. He does not tolerate cats or small children, so a home with only adults or older children and no cats would be ideal. We are looking for the right home that will allow him to relax, with owners who truly understand his behavioral needs.
If you can provide Disco with the quiet, loving environment he needs, please reach out. This little guy deserves a home where he can thrive and be his best self.
