My Story

Meet Diesel! Diesel was returned to CCHS because living in an active home was more than he wanted to do. Young kids are too much for him, so he'd do best in a home with teenagers and older. He is crate trained and goes to the door when he needs to go potty. He is nervous around new people so will need a home where he can take his time meeting strangers. He is crate trained because he can be a little too busy in the home when left alone. He's terrified of the vacuum cleaner. He is on a grain free dog food due to having sensitive skin. What we have noticed about Diesel at the shelter is that he can appear reactive in his kennel. Once he is out, he's a much happier dog and quite playful. He's uncertain at times and his big bark comes out when that happens. When he is able to be comfortable and relaxed, he's a happy dog. Apply for Diesel today! Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $100.00. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Erlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS
