Desi

Desi is a handsome JRT/Rat Terrier mix of eight years (DOB 12/04/2016) and weighing in at a svelte 19 lbs. He is a sweet gem of a little dog, very well mannered and quiet in the house. Desi loves to cuddle or sit close curled up beside his human. He will bury under a blanket where he will stay when at home by himself, but would prefer a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time as he will quickly bond with his “person”. Desi is very obedient and understands a lot of words. He won’t bolt through doors but stands back until you say it’s okay. It does take Desi awhile to warm up to strangers and he will bark at them. Slow introductions are necessary until he feels comfortable. A playful boy, he loves his toys and tries to engage you (especially putting a sock on your foot and fetching a ball.) He walks well on a leash and is comfortable using a harness. He enjoys his walks and gets excited to go for one when told. We do not recommend a home for Desi with other dogs or cats. We feel he would be best suited to a quiet household with a single person or perhaps a retired couple. Desi is a very sweet dog in his home environment with his trusted humans. He’s just looking for a quiet home, cuddles and love. Desi has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on vaccines. He will be visiting the dentist soon for a cleaning and then will be ready for adoption. He is being lovingly fostered in WHITBY, ONTARIO and his adoption fee is $475 (dog aged between six and nine years of age).
