He is a gorgeous dog! 10 months old (born about 5/2008). He was an owner surrender because they just didn't have time for him. He came from a shelter in Iowa. He weighs about 75# and will put on a few more before he's full grown.
Derek is a typical lab--energetic, happy, smart, loyal and friendly. He gets along with other dogs and children. He likes to play ball. He also likes to play with cats, which some cats may not like.
He does fine in a crate and he is house trained. He is such a puppy. He would be a great jogging partner or a great companion for a very active family. He walks nicely with a training collar and does know how to SIT. He loves life and doesn't want to miss a thing! His enthusiasm for life is contagious!
Derek loves to follow you everywhere you go--he really doesn't want to miss a thing. He will lay by you when on the computer or watching TV. He is just a great dog who will be your best friend for life!

This dog's adoption fee is $250 (plus tax). This includes being spayed/neutered, current on Rabies (if over 4 months old), Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, wormed, microchipped with the HomeAgain microchip, heartworm tested (if over 7 months old) and medicated during the heartworm season (May-Dec) while in our care, comes with a Gentle Leader headcollar (if the fee ends in a 5), and is currently learning Basic Obedience commands and good doggie manners.
