Delta Dawn

Delta Dawn is a spunky, beautiful, smart, 3-year-old shepherd mix. She is a medium-sized dog who has had quite a journey in her short life. Once a stray dog, she arrived at Coconino Humane Association from the Navajo Nation, along with three other siblings. She came to AARF the end of February 2021, along with a sibling and another Reservation dog. She loves the outdoors and long hikes and is learning to walk well on a leash and harness. She is extremely athletic and loves to chase a ball. She is able to bond deeply with a human who spends time with her and will come when called. She gets along with other dogs. Delta is shy and will retreat to her bunkhouse when there is a lot of activity outside. It takes a little patience, but once she knows you, she’ll be ready to be your friend and go for a walk on a harness or slip lead. We at AARF believe that with practice, she will learn to become more accepting of the world around her and will blossom into a loyal companion. Delta needs someone that will come out and work with her and spend quality time letting her get to know you. Once she has bonded with you then she will be ready for adoption.
