My Story

Can Delta be your new adventure buddy? Delta originally came in as a stray who looked to be in very poor health so we can only imagine what her past may have been like before, but luckily with consistent care, she's feeling so much better and through some time spent in a foster home and going out on dog dates, we're learning about how wonderful she is now! Things interested families should know about Delta includes: - Very friendly when meeting new people (may need to work on not jumping up)! - Crate trained- did not bark in her crate and seemed content in it at night and when fosters were at work - High energy level, but knows how to relax inside the house - Housebroken (has one accident initially but did great after that) - Never destructive in the home but still working on a few manners (would try to put her paws on the counter or look inside the trash, but responds well to being told to drop it or to get down) - Seems to love playing with other dogs! She has joined in for doggie playgroup at the shelter and was living with another dog in her foster home and loved to play with them! - Spent time around children age 8 and 12 and was great with them, even though she was a little jumpy - Probably best in a home without cats- she was briefly around them in a foster home and initially seemed fine around them when they are calm, but if they run she tries to chase and is too rough trying to mouth at them. Delta came back from foster since she was not able to leave the kitties alone Delta is currently back at the shelter and we would love for her to find another foster home or a forever family! Visit us during our open hours if you would like to meet this spunky girl! Delta is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment.
