My Story

Delilah is a 12 pound, 8 yr old spayed Red Fawn Italian Greyhound that is gentle, playful and social. She gets along well with spayed/neutered dogs of all sizes, and indoor cats, and enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys and daily 'snack' and 'lap' time, and curling up with other dogs or cats. She likes gentle scratching behind the ears and soft stroking down her back, and prefers to lay in a pet bed with soft sides and be covered by a small blanket when resting. Delilah is comfortable in a blanket/bed lined kennel, both for car rides, and when sleeping or when her caregiver is away from home. She wags and kisses, knows her name, and does not soil in her kennel or the house. She will potty on designated 'potty training pads' if not let out, or will ask to be let outside. She will wear a sweater when out in bad weather, and prefers to potty on flat surfaces, cement, or short grass as her feet get cold quickly. Delilah has only her 4 canine teeth, and has had benign mammary tumors removed due to over breeding from a puppy mill. She eats a canned food diet, and barks during play and to advise when it is breakfast and dinner time. Delilah enjoys watching/listening to the TV, and has been given a clean bill of health, and is a joy to have in the home.

She passed her temperament test at the NHS fine, and is looking for her new home. The NHS removed a freckle on her left cheek as a preventative. Delilah, Toni and Tink originally came from the Nebraska Humane Society in December 2007. Their previous owner got them at a dog auction according to the little history that is known about these girls. They have all been spayed and updated on shots so they are just looking for their forever home. Due to neglect at the breeder or possibly a puppy mill all three girls only have their four large canine teeth, and will need a soft food diet, or hard food softened a little before feeding. All three girls have had one or likely more than one litter of puppies in their lives and need a place to show them what being a dog really can be like. Please contact us if you think you can provide one or more of these girls a good home.
