There’s nothing more irresistible than a young Lab’s love of life! Darby, who just turned one year old, has a sunny disposition that will leave you with a perpetual smile. This youngster came to us form a neglectful situation, but he’s an optimist by nature and a tail wagging “glass is half full kind” of guy. He weighs 85 pounds; our vet recommends he trim down to a perfect 75 pounds.
Darby is housetrained and crate trained. So far he’s shown off his sit and shake and that he has a soft, gentle mouth for taking treats. On walks he pulls on the harness at first, but after the wiggles are out he calms down. Darby loves to chase the ball and was fascinated by the hose in the back yard -- we think he’s hinting he might just be a great water dog! Dogs big and small count him as a friend and he loves to play. With his delight in exercise and playtime, be should lose those extra pounds in no time.
Our volunteer who spent some time with Darby remarked that he’s a sweet-natured, happy go lucky Lab.. He rides beautifully in the car where he likes to either hang his head out the window and catch the breeze or just snooze quietly. Such an accommodating young guy!
