My Story

Please contact Chandler Jaffe ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.sweet shy girl seeking fresh start and love! DAPHNE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Daphne and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (July 28th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Daphne Best Guess for Breed: Beagle and hound mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of June 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 26 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Daphne with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Daphne could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Special adoption considerations: Because Daphne is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Daphne in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Daphne is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet shy girl came in with her sister Velma (yeah, there must be some Scooby-Doo fans working at the shelter!). Daphne is eagerly looking forward to the chapter of her life where she trots through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved dog, sniffing all the smells (that beagle nose!). To get there, she needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help her experience new environments and people at her pace. A welcoming resident dog will help show her how to dog too! What My Foster Says About Me: Daphne is an interesting mix of a lapdog/cuddler and playful adventurer. She enjoys following in the lead of other dogs! She is making decent progress with leash training and crate training. Over time she has grown to be more adventurous and independent. She loves to zoom with her foster brother and cuddle at night. She's energetic during walks and loves to bark at squirrels. She loves to go to our local park and welcomes all of the attention from the kids there. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
