My Story

7/30 We have a total gentleman to share! Everyone meet Danny, an ~6yr old Corgi mix. He came to us a few weeks ago from a rural shelter in Kentucky and is now looking for a home of his own. He has been in a foster home with one of our fosters and is doing very well, so we think he is ready to find a home of his own. He is a very good natured boy who enjoys a good walk, then likes to just relax by his people. He picked out his favorite toy in foster and likes to carry it around with him everywhere so you will actually have two new additions in the home lol Danny was part of a cruelty case back in Kentucky so he had to be confined to a small crate for 8 months until he was allowed to be released to rescue. He hasn't let that get him down, though and he's ready to get on with his forever with a forever family. Maybe yours? Danny appears to be housebroken, is good with people and seems to be indifferent to other pets. We think he will fit in to just about any new home with little effort and will make a great companion. Due to his size and age, adoption requirements are: •Living within 500 miles of Adams, NY to continue their vetting as needed in the upcoming weeks. •Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. •He should do fine with other dogs in the home, but it would depend on a meet and greet. •Homes with children over 5 years old should be ok but he prefers a quiet home. •Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match. •Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet. Preference will be given to homes with previous dog experience. An adoption donation of $400 is being asked, if you decide to adopt, but fostering is free!! He has had his vet check, is current on vaccines, intestinal, heartworm and external parasite treatment and is neutered. Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors! He was kept predominantly in a small wire cage during his stay and waited patiently without a chance at finding a home until all was settled. Once pulled into foster, Danny's spirit has shined! After what was probabaly over a year spent in horrid conditions and another 8 months in cage confinement, he was finally free! How could we say no when we heard this sweet boys story? Won't you help us help him and offer to foster or foster to adopt?
