My Story

Meet 12 year 12 lb Dakota Denim - a special blind poodle neutered male. Dakota is looking for a loving home to spend his golden years in. Despite his age and blindness, Dakota is still full of life and love to give. He is a gentle soul who enjoys spending time with his people, meandering in the backyard, and cuddling up on the couch. Dakota is a very adaptable dog who has learned to navigate his world without sight. He uses his keen sense of smell to get around, and he quickly learns the layout of new environments. Dakota is a low-maintenance dog who is easy to care for. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and he is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. He is also on a regular flea and tick preventative. The only other medication he takes is a thyroid hormone replacement pill called Thyrotabs. A 30 day supply is less than $5! And he takes it without any problem. Dakota would be a great addition to any home. He is a loving and loyal companion who is sure to bring joy to his new family. Here are some of Dakota’s favorite things to do: meander in the yard, taking in all the smells cuddle up on the couch with his people receive gentle massages and pets Dakota is looking for a home that: has a fenced-in yard has no small children or other pets is patient and understanding of his blindness is committed to providing him with a loving and caring home Fostered in Rockville, MD please apply at mirishaven.org
