Dakota

Shepherd/Mix. Birth date approximately 12/07/08. Male. Needs lots of exercise. Very intelligent - Would love to learn tricks and be included in family activities. He would great with children. He is learning to fetch and getting better at potty training. He has almost NO accidents if he has the use of a pet door. Dakota is all about fun. He wants to play all the time, but being a puppy, he finally has to give up and takes several naps during the day. Most of the time he sleeps through the night. He rides very well in the car - he either lays down in your lap or in the seat. He is fine with other dogs and cats. They may get tired of him, but he loves them. This puppy was part of a litter of 9 who were born under an abandoned house. Their mama was a dog who had been left there when the people moved away. She & the tiny puppies had to fend for themselves through some of the coldest nights last winter. Through the kindness of people in the neighborhood, they were given food & water. Second Chance Pets was contacted & they were rescued. They were covered with fleas, full of worms, dirty & scared of people. Now they are healthy, clean, well fed, friendly & happy.

Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Petco on Bay Area Boulevard. The adoption fee starts at $125. All dogs are heartworm tested, on heartguard, fixed, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed. All dogs are microchipped.
