Dakota

Hi, my name is Dakota and if you're looking for a big buddy to be your constant companion, I'm your man! I'm a handsome 70 lb coonhound, about 3-4 years old and a very tall boy. I'm an extremely friendly guy who loves everybody. I'm playful (without being rambunctious), smart, and eager to make my family happy. I'm just a big goofy boy with a lot of personality and a great temperament. I'm constantly smiling and seem to have a good time wherever I go. Before I was rescued, I spent many weeks in the shelter, and though a lot of dogs become depressed in that atmosphere, I never lost my cheerful attitude.

Although I don't live with children, I've done very well with them and I love all the attention they give me (I just have to be careful not to knock down anyone accidentally...). I get along well with other dogs and I've been indifferent to the cats that I've met, but nonetheless I probably shouldn't be left unsupervised with them. I'm housebroken & crate trained, and I also walk nicely on a leash with the help of a prong collar. I've been neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworms.
