Dakota 5 1/2 # Female Maltese 8 y.o. We want a loving forever home for her which she can learn to be a member of her family with all of the freedom that entails. We haven't gotten to know Dakota too well just yet, but she is a sweet friendly little lady, crate trained, reportedly loves to run & explore around the back yard. Her medical care has been completely updated, including a dental and spay. She only had 8 teeth and all had to be removed. Having no teeth will not impact her life except to considerably improve the quality of her health. Currently she is eating dry kibble that has been softened in warm water for about 20 minutes prior to mealtime. Dakota has lived in a crate her entire life. She was crated daily with 4 scheduled times a day for outside breaks. Her foster family has transitioned her to a large play pen with similar times to go outside. Coming into rescue is a big change from everything she has known, we are working gradually to not overwhelm her. She loves attention but we know it will take some time for her to transition to be fully transitioned to being a companion to her New family. ** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5. Lil Paws is a very small organization, our volunteer time is reserved for interested persons who have filled out the application to adopt. We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers.
