Daisy

Daisy is a sweet girl who has had a rough life. She arrived extremely thin, with an ear infection and she looks like she's had a few litters. Daisy is well on her way to becoming a healthy girl, and we are just working on her emotional well being.

Daisy will require a special home, with owners that have experience with large breed dogs with behavior issues. A home that has experience with Great Danes would be preferred. Daisy will need an adult only home. Daisy needs to be socialized around people and we recommend she see a professional trainer to assist her. Daisy can be a bit aloof with strangers and needs a bit of time to warm up. Daisy is learning to play and relax and staff and volunteers are working with her daily.

Daisy gets along well with most dogs, but would need to be introduced to any dogs in the home prior to adoption. Daisy has not been assessed with cats at this time.

Any interested applicants in Daisy will also need to remember that Great Danes are a special breed with special medical needs. In later life they can develop ligament and joint problems. Daisy's hips and legs have been x-rayed and do not show any signs at this time of problems.

All the animals that arrive at the Shelter are stray. The information that we have on the animals has been gathered since their arrival at the Shelter., and with the help of our volunteers. We do our best to assess the animals and disclose everything we know regarding health and temperment to interested adopters

Adoption applications are available at the Shelter only. The application review process can take between 24-48 hours. The Shelter does NOT do same day adoptions.
