Name: Crocodilly Best Guess for Breed: Feist and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 10 months as of August 2024 Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 9 lbs as of 7/25/24; might have just a bit more to grow Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus. Needs a foster or forever home in the DC area after completing heartworm treatment! Special Adoption Considerations: Crocodilly is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. He's eager to get his own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures they dream up. And his size is a huge plus - if he can't scramble over boulders, he can easily be toted over!He also wants to make pup and people pals along the way, quality kibble, and a cushy dog bed. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and snuggles and loyal companionship. What do you say?
