My Story

Cricket came into the CalPaws family with her 7 siblings and momma. They had spent far too long in the local shelter and were in desperate need of some tender love and care. The second smallest in her litter, Cricket weight a mere 2 pounds at 6 weeks old. She was oh-so tiny , but her personality was oh-so big! Cricket is the first to greet her foster mom every morning with little yips and the tiniest howls. She means business when it's time for meals and snacks ! Cricket doesn't realize that she is tiny. She is very adventurous and not afraid of checking out new things. She gets along very well with her foster dog family and is obsessed with her foster bloodhounds floppy ears and cheeks. After play time Cricket is most content crawling in her foster mom's lap, curling up, and falling quickly asleep. Cricket dreams vividly and makes the cutest little chirping noises, but with a name like Cricket, it's to be expected! This little lady will do best with a gentle older dog. She won't always be so tiny since she is believed to be a border collie and German shepherd mix (dna pending) so a sibling that will eventually want to run and play would be ideal. Cricket is a very very smart girl, already learning to sit at 7 weeks old as long as there is a snack as a reward! Do not hesitate to reach out if you think Cricket will be a great addition to your family! Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Our dogs are spayed/neutered and a registered chip. For our puppies they are up to date on vaccinations. Once adopted it is the new owner's responsibility to continue the remaining vaccinations with a veterinarian. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering
