THEO IS LOCATED IN PLANO, IL. PLEASE REACH OUT TO HIS OWNER IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MORE INFORMATION.
He is a Miniature Australian Shepherd who is 9 years and 10 months old. He loves fetching, swimming, and tug of war! He is a cuddly dog who lays around most the day. He is house-trained, up to date on his vaccinations, and neutered. We have worked with him in group training, as well as with private trainers. He knows basic commands (sit, down, come, stay, high ten, shake, rollover) and is very driven by treats. His energy level is probably around a 3-4. He loves playing, but gets tired shortly and is content to primarily lay on the couch.
We are hoping to Rehome him because he is over-eager at “herding” our 1.5 year old son since he started walking about 6 months ago, and we just found out our son is allergic to him. This over eagerness has manifested itself by knocking our son down when he walks and nipping at him when he makes sudden movements. Theo has a long list of other issues - including separation anxiety and overprotectiveness toward new people. His separation anxiety has been displayed by Theo escaping multiple kennels we’ve tried to put him in (is now kept in a room) and tearing up drywall (which hasn’t happened for 4 years). His overprotectiveness has shown itself with barking, growling, and occasionally warning nips toward house guests. We have had to begin muzzling him when hosting guests. He hasn’t been around cats much, but has chased the one he has been able to.
