Country Singers-Ad

These German Shepherd/Boxer mix puppies are named in honor of some our Country Music Singers. Many of America's best loved Country Singers came from very humble beginnings
This thought is why these sweet puppies are named for several much loved Country Singers.

These puppies certainly had a humble beginning.
A seemingly small for breed pure bred German Shepherd female was picked up "running loose" near a country road in Greenville, SC......This female who was "running loose" had a litter of 6 puppies approx 5 days old near by. Seems like Mama and puppies had been Dumped!

The Saturday that CSR went to the Greenville Shelter was the day that the Mama German Shepherd and her puppies were to die at the end of the day.

Two of the CSR gals went into the cell separately with the mama and pups. One remarkable thing was that the concrete floor was spotless. Mama was certainly keeping the area where she and her puppies were clean.

I had come for another German Shepherd young female not a mama and puppies. The dog I had come for had been adopted. This always makes me wonder why then had I come. I didn't want another mama and puppies, I already had moms and puppies at home......as we went through the shelter I could not get the GSD mama and her puppies out of my mind and heart.....Neither could the other gal. She said she would take the mama and puppies.....I said "No, they will be going home with me".

The puppies were put into a crate and carried through the shelter's long halls and out to my car.
Mama would not allow herself to go ahead of the crate. She followed the crate with her puppies inside. There was a look of sweet innocence about the way she followed the crate that made my heart cry......Were she not leaving the shelter with us, she would have followed the crate with her puppies into a room where death was waiting for them all!

That above events happened 5 or 6 weeks ago.
Now these same puppies with their humble beginning are strong healthy puppies who are almost ready to leave mama for new families of their own.

Greta, has been a wonderful mama to her puppies.
Now Greta will be able to gain some needed weigh. She will rest from her duties as mom for several weeks and then be spayed and Heartworm tested.
Greta will then be ready for her new family also.
