Copper

Copper here is a 1 year old “Chi-Weenie” (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) weighing 13lbs and he is the sweetest little man around! He was pulled from a KY shelter by our rescue partner Ginger as he was terrified there and at risk of euthanasia. He can be a little nervous when adjusting to a new environment but he really came around within 24hrs of his new NY foster home! What didn’t take him long at all, though, was falling head over heels in love with his foster moms grandmother. He saw her from across the room and lit up! Ran over to her, jumped in her lap, and started giving her kisses! He seems to have an affinity with older woman. Special consideration will be given to a senior woman looking for her next partner in crime! Everyone tell your grandma you’ve got a dog for her :) Copper is crate trained though he has proven himself to not need it, progressing on a leash but would prefer a fenced yard, and potty trained when kept on a structured routine. He LOVES his blankie and cuddles up underneath it every night. He would absolutely prefer to sleep in bed with his new owner! He is cat neutral and dog friendly but can show some resource guarding tendencies over toys/food, so a dog sibling who isn’t easily threatened will be a must.
