My Story

Conway is approx. 1 - 1 1/2 old in these pictures taken April 28, 2007. He was found by a shelter volunteer on her way home from doing a dog transport down to Little Rock. Conway was running, well actually bouncing, down the grassy median about 6 - 8 miles South of Conway, Arkansas (thus his name). The volunteer had to drive a ways to be able to turn around and pull off safely to rescue him. He was such a happy boy to see someone and came running towards her until he realized that she wasn't the person he thought she was. He just flopped down in the grass. After he got a taste of some smelly food, the volunteer was able to get a leash around him. The walk back to the volunteer's car was scary for both of them. Conway went into a crate without a fight. The volunteer did try to place him with rescue groups in the area but all were full. She was told that the rescue groups were even pulling from the kill shelters after receiving a plea for help from them. Not being able to stand putting this handsome and loving fellow into a kill shelter, he was brought back to Centerton.

We have found out that Conway is very smart and appears to be quickly trainable. He loves people and wants to be with you in the yard. Conway gets along with all of the dogs we have put him with. He can climb a 6 foot chain link fence and needs some work with leash training.
