It’s been an uphill battle for this little lady with the long ears, but tonight we celebrate as she officially enters the adoption circuit. The next obstacle for this Beagle to overcome is finding a happily ever after! You often ask “where all the adoptable dogs are”, well truth be told many of the pups we take in our medical cases. They aren’t your easy intake, easy adopt out kind of pups. These special pups stay in our system until they are ready to join their forever family. Connie has been with us since the beginning of the year. She came in with a few lumps that had to be removed and biopsied, as well as heartworm. Luckily Connie’s masses were begin, but her heartworm certainly was not. Due to her age the treatment was stretched out a bit to lessen the stress and severity. It was a long road for Connie but thankfully she was able to get the treatment she needed and pulled through likw a champ. We estimate Connie to be 5-7 years old. She is 35lbs, and we can’t quite decide if she’s a Beagle or Beagle/Bassett mix. Whatever she is she takes on a lot of characteristics true to the hound breeds. She loves food, being outside and taking in all the smells it has to offer. Connie is a fairly low key girl, doesn’t require an excessive amount of exercise. She tolerates her canine friends but isn’t much of a playmate and needs to be fed separately as she takes meal time seriously. If you are looking for a laid back companion pup that will join you in your social activities or just hang out on the couch, Connie could be that girl.
