My Story

Coco is a male 12 week old Corgi Bassett hound mix who currently weighs about 15 pounds and will probably weigh between 30 and 40 pounds when he’s full grown. Picked up by Little Rock Animal Services and taken to the pound, Coco was summarily deposited in a cold and impersonal concrete kennel to await his fate. The shelter can be an intimidating place; fearful barking, puppies crying, and the ever present smell of fear is not exactly going to bring out the best in these sad canine companions. The clock was ticking, but fortunately for Coco, a visiting DogsOnly volunteer with a keen eye, spotted cuddly little Coco huddled in a corner of his kennel. It only took a few kind softly spoken words to get that little tail wagging, and Coco was on his way to a brighter future. After only a few days out of the noise and confusion of the shelter, Coco already seems to have forgotten his troubles, and is stealing everyone’s heart. You can meet Coco at the west Little Rock Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot every Sat and Sun from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please be sure and call (501-219-9907) before you come to visit him to make sure that he is still available for adoption. Coco has received a complete medical evaluation, all shots, rabies, fecal and worming medication, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, micro-chipping, grooming, and will be altered as soon as he’s old enough. If believe that Coco might make a wonderful edition to your family, you are invited to send an email to [email protected] or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange text links at the top or bottom of his official bio page located at www.dogsonly.org/256pop.html. If you don’t find that special companion you are looking for in the DogsOnly rescue, rehabilitation, and re-home program then please visit Last Chance Arkansas or one of the many other central Arkansas rescue organizations to save a rescued canine companion.
