Meet Coal! Coal was born in September 2023. He arrived at WAG as a stray when he was about 6 weeks old. We believe he is related to numerous other strays we have rescued from the same area, so he may grow into a large sized dog around 55 lbs. His particular mix of breeds is a mystery, but he may have some lab, cattle dog, and shepherd. As he is still young, he will need consistent training to help him grow into a well-mannered dog. Coal is dog selective, so he would not likely do well with trips to a dog park but might do okay with slow introductions to polite dogs. In his time here at WAG, he is getting to meet a variety of people and take some outings to help with socialization. He would love to have a home with a family with children at least 5 years old, and a securely fenced yard to run around in. Coal does take longer to warm up to men, but we feel that he may stick to his people like Velcro once he has bonded with them. Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Our dogs are fed a nutrient rich dog food.
