Clyde
Breed
Labrador Retriever
Color
Yellow / Tan / Blond / Fawn, Red / Chestnut / Orange
This is Clyde (reddish dog pictured). His owner forgot him and his pup friend Bonnie when they moved. Clyde and Bonnie were put outside the house in a fenced yard and the owner walked away. A couple of weeks later when the new owner moved in, they found these two. The new owner was nice enough to take them to the shelter. The issues was, this was a rural shelter ran by law enforcement with infrequent stop ins. Clyde and Bonnie were extremely fearful and a euthanasia date was set. We were so thankful that our rescue was contacted, and we were able to pull these two on their date of death.
Both are altered, microchipped, dewormed, and UTD on vaccines. They are fine around other dogs, but they need more socialization around cats (they are not aggressive just overly curious). They are fabulous dogs, they crate well, listen, don’t demand a lot and are not hard keepers. Both are around children regularly and do fine supervised. Clyde and Bonnie are housetrained and know basic commands. Clyde and Bonnie also ride in the car well.
Bonnie is 23lbs and Clyde is 33lbs. It is believed they are around 2 years old. It is unknown if they are related, though we do see some similarities. It is believed they are a lab mix, with possibly some chihuahua, given Bonnie’s size and physical traits.
Clyde is a comedian of dogs. You can commonly catch Clyde doing back flips trying to catch butterflies in midair. You want to see something beautiful?? Watch this guy run! It is impressive. He loves to be outside and is independent. But don’t let that fool you, Clyde also likes to be your right-hand man and would love to follow you around the house and snag the seat next to you for a snuggle.
Bonnie is the boss. She likes to police the other dogs to ensure all are following the rules. Bonnie loves to be with her person and loves to snuggle. Bonnie is also independent and can be found lounging in the sun outside. Bonnie would love to be the spoiled princess that also moonlights as your adventure buddy.
We would prefer to see them go together, but we know that is a tall order. They can be easily separated and do not seem overly dependent on each other.
Homeownership and fenced yard are preferred. This rescue will not adopt out to individuals that have unaltered domestic pets.
