My Story

Clyde is about two years old or so. He's quite a large dog--over 50 lbs and underweight at that, and he has huge bony legs that make him look positvely awkward sometimes. Clyde is beautifully behaved and quite loving. He liks other dogs and doesn't seem too concerned about cats. He rides well in the car and acts as though he may be housebroken. Cyde has a sore spot at the end of his tail which may come from having gotten it shut in a door or wagging it hard against concrete. We hope some good food and TLC will take care of that.

Scroll to bottom for contact information or call ARF at (877) ARF-JCNC. For the $70 adoption fee, this animal has received rabies shot and heartworm test if old enough. It has also received puppy shot, worming, and spay/ neuter--and sometimes a considerable investment of services and treatments.

No, she isn't really a Portugese Water Dog. The president couldn't do the right thing and adopt a shelter dog, but that doesn't mean we should imitate him!

Because of this animal's uncertain history, we assume he or she is not housebroken unless we have stated otherwise. However, most dogs are trainable and eager to please. ARF will happily advise prospective owners about crate training and the latest housebreaking tools.

We set up at our new location on 50 Railroad Street, Sylva, NC every Saturday from noon until 4 or 5 PM. You can also view animals by making an appointment with the foster parent. Get approximate directions from your location.

Visit our web site for more information on adoption AND our adoption application.
