My Story

Cleo is likely less then a year old and is a long haired German Shepherd that dumped at a Toronto Animal Shelter until one of the staff noticed her and worked with her for several hours to bring her into the shelter. She was shy with the staff at the Shelter but they thought she would be a good candidate for adoption and contacted Speaking of Dogs to find her a home suited to her needs. Cleo currently lives with her foster mom who adores her and a Cocker Spaniel and two very tolerant cats and one guinea pig. She’s well mannered in the home but she does chase the cats. She travels well. She bonded instantly with her foster mom but is now reluctant to let strangers into her life. Her foster mom is working with her to accept new friends without being threatened or intimidated by them. Cleo will need a family who is willing to continue with this behaviour modification work so that she can learn to trust new people. Cleo loves her walks through the residential community she currently resides. Foster mom and Cleo still keep their distance from passers by and Cleo is asked to sit and not to bark and let people pass which she is getting much better at. Cleo learns quickly and is very willing to please she already knows several tricks. She is a happy dog who loves to play fetch and nicely drops the ball for the next round of play. She is not aggressive with other animals. She deserves a chance at a family life with people who will commit to her training and work thru her insecurities. if you are interested in Cleo, please contact Speaking of Dogs Rescue
