My Story

Clarence (03-116) is a HANDSOME and unusual-looking boy from the Rockdale County shelter. He was a stray who'd been on his own for quite awhile. He had hookworms and whipworms and has now been treated. Clarence's paw pads were ulcerated from "traveling". He's now neutered and has completed treatment for heartworms. This 8 year old is mostly brown and black with a bit of white on his chest. His looonnngg ears reach an inch past his nose even though they have a few "character marks" on the ends. Clarence weighs 47 lbs and is very strong and athletic - jumping baby gates and short fences in a single bound. This guy is so happy to be in a home after being a stray for so long, and he loves to hug you by getting in your lap and resting his chin on your shoulder. He's very affectionate - burying his head in your chest or under your arm. Clarence gets along with kids but older ones may be best for this active boy. Clarence likes to play with toys and with other dogs, and he's is not destructive at all. Having not been in a house before, he's still working on manners and housetraining, but has mastered the dog-door and is crate-trained. He sleeps all night - letting you know when he's ready to go out by rattling his crate door. He was adopted recently but returned after he and a cat just couldn't tolerate each other.
