My Story

What can we say about CJ? He's a pretty wonderful and special dog who just refused to give up on life after his owners let him run loose and get hit by a car. They were not concerned with saving him, even though they were supposed to care. The vet who was to euthanize, couldn't. CJ, in pain, looked up and stopped his crying, kissed her and wagged his tail. She had the dog signed over and she contacted us in tears hoping against hope someone could help. Though the rescue was beyond full, we just knew we had no choice but to help this little guy. And we are more than glad we did. CJ is pure happiness, even with a leg splinted, and he just shares love with everyone he meets. He is such a great little trooper and he makes everyone want to come over and say hello (even dogs!) as he hobbles along. We have to keep reminding ourselves he is a puppy (4-5 months old) because he is just such a courageous little guy. Trying to do everything the other dogs can do, CJ surprises everyone at how determined he is. And he is going to need that determination in the months ahead... Sadly, his leg is in bad shape as it is broken in several places. He will have his front leg amputated by a wonderful vet and then he will take his time to recover and will then be available for adoption. CJ will need a very special home that will keep him healthy through his life. Please consider donating to CJ's surgery and recovery. Contact us for details on ways to donate.
