My Story

Don't forget to visit our website at www.arfsepa.com to make a secure donation to support our rescue efforts! We use PayPal, so you can donate safely directly from your credit card or PayPal account. Our veterinary bills average $7000 per month each month during kitten season (April - October), so we need your help to make a difference. Your entire donation goes directly to pay for vet care for rescued pets. Thanks for sponsoring a pet and making a difference - www.arfsepa.com! Churchill is just plain awesome. This 8-year old doggie looks a little like an Aghan or some sort of retriever. Frankly, we don't know exactly what his mix is, he's just a tall, slender, all-black cutie pie. He's great with everyone and is exactly the kind of dog that we love to rescue. We got the call from a local public shelter that we work with to help support their adoption efforts. Local SPCAs and shelters just get too many dogs dumped on them each and every month, and they can't possibly adopt out them all. Added to the problem is the fact that people will get a dog as a puppy and keep it for a few years, then dump the dog at a shelter just when the dog needs them most. That happened to Churchill. The local SPCA was so full and people kept turning in dogs that they were going to have to walk through the shelter and do a "list" - which means that the older dogs often get put down first to make room for new ones. This is the saddest part of having to work at a public shelter. Well, are we glad that the shelter called us first! The loved Churchill so much that they called us to see if there's any way ARF SEPA could take Churchill into our care. We didn't any foster spots that very day, so we paid to board Churchill at one of our participating vets - Conchester Animal Hospital. While Churchill stayed with our friends at Conchester he received a bath and a complete veterinary exam, plus geriatric blood work to see if he had any ailments. Churchill appears healthy and ready to be adopted to give a family a few years of some wonderful puppy love. Churchill is now in an ARF SEPA foster home where he lives with kids, other dogs and even cats. He gets along very well with everyone, and of course he's won the hearts of everyone in his foster home. He loves to be with people and give you his paws of love. He's great in the car and wants to come and sit beside you. He walks well on his leash and is just one great dog. Like all ARF SEPA pets, Churchill is already neutered, tested and up to date on vaccinations. He's already housetrained. If you can give Churchill some of the love and attention that he deserves for his golden years, please send an email to our Petfinder coordinator at jla20@mac.com. Don't forget to visit our home page here at Petfinder, and please visit our website at www.arfsepa.com to learn about the great work done by ARF SEPA volunteers each and every day. These loving, caring people give their homes, their time and definitely their money to help homeless pets. You can help too, even if you don't volunteer, by visiting our website at www.arfsepa.com and making a donation using our secure PayPal connection. You can use a credit card or your PayPal account. Thanks for your help and thanks for thinking rescue first!
