My Story

Age:7 mos (DOB 11/10/23) Weight: 30 lbs Location: Wilmington, DE Nicknames: Chumm-O, Chummy, Little Man Good with other dogs?: Yes. Chumlee is a feisty pup and can get a little rough sometimes. He goes after ears, tails, etc. but does accept correction from our older dog. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? yes Activity Preference: other: due to his health concerns we limit walks to being very short. He'll let you know when he's tired. IQ: Average Chumlee's favorite things: Chumlee loves playing with another dog but can be chill on his own too. He loves his raw food and he loves raw marrow bones. He plays tug with the best of them and is stronger than he looks! He needs to be with his people and is a velcro dog through and through. He likes to give kisses and gets very frustrated if you don't let him kiss you. He will be respectful of redirection though. Chumlee is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, going for car rides, playing Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: raw food and lots of pee pads Training Needs: leash training, needs obedience training, other: basic manners, He's a puppy Health issues: Chumlee was born with Spina Bifida. He is missing his L7 vertebrae. He has some control over urine but we assist him by expressing his bladder. He has no control over feces. It just comes out when it comes out. He does get around well but walks on his hocks a bit. He has gotten stronger from regular exercise and playing. He will never be your running partner but he loves people immensely. Meet Chumlee Chumlee was born with a birth defect and his Greeder couldn't sell him. They took him to a vet for euthanasia and the vet saved him (YAY). There is no cure for Spina Bifida and no surgery to be performed. He will likely need cleaning up after for the rest of his life. He's really not hard to take care of though. We use lots of baby wipes and washable peed pads and he's good to go. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal [email protected]. We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you. To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog.
