Chuck is a 10 month old Great Dane that came to our group as an owner surrender with his owner having to move. Chuck did not do well to her trying to rehome him on Craigs List and she was out of time. Chuck was raised in a family with children and would sleep with one of the daughters at night. Coming to us he is a very nervous guy who does not seem to know what to do with himself. He was adopted and returned after 2 weeks because of severe separation anxiety. Chuck is going to be a big guy and it is tough to get him to do something he does not want to do. He will be a challenge for an experienced Dane owner. He will do better in a home with kids and a few dogs – it seems to comfort him. He will need time to learn to trust and settle in – so his new family must have the time and patience to give this youngster to understand his roll in the family and time to settle in.
