Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

NOT in VPDate into Rescue: 06/26/24
Reason for being in rescue: Chloe and her sister Suzie were brought to a SC shelter when their homeless owner could no longer keep them safe from the heat of the summer
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Chloe is very bonded to her sister Suzie. They will only be placed together. Chloe is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Chloe had a dental that required several extractions and a growth removed from her left eye. Chloe was already missing 7 teeth and 4 more were removed. This will all need monitored and followed up on. Chloe was examined by a vet who states she is spayed. We do not have any written proof, but a licensed vet examined Chloe and feels there is evidence that she is spayed. She will be placed on a spay contract that states should she ever go into heat, the adopter will contact CPR and we will work together to get Suzie spayed.
Weight: 15.2 lbs (Chloe is a tad bit overweight)
Height: 9 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $499 for Chloe and Suzie together
Fence needed? No
What kind of home would be best for me? Chloe and Suzie need a home that is going to understand first and foremost that they are a team, a pair, a couple, a duo, inseparable and loving it. Chloe, as the elder, is the leader and Suzie is happy to go with the flow. Their new home will understand we will not split them up and be happy for two sweet poodle girls instead of one. If you don't have room in your heart for both girls, Chloe is not your dog.
Other than that, Chloe and Suzie are flexible! Work from home or work away, retired or in school, they really don't care what you do all day as long as you can spend some of it with them. If it is more, than that is okay. If it is less time, then they have each other for company while you are away. They don't care if you live on a farm or in a high rise or putter around the country in an RV. They are highly adaptable and ready for anything.
What is my personality like? Chloe is gregarious and friendly, ready for whatever comes her way as long as her bestie Suzie is on the fun, too. She is quiet and not an athlete. Her idea of exercise is running from the bedroom to the fridge. Yes, Chloe needs a different lifestyle plan than eat and sleep and that is another thing we are hoping her new fam can give her - walks! It's good for everyone.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Chloe will greet you politely and appropriately. She's not a jump on your, go for it kind of girl. She's more of a laid back, let's see where this new thing goes greeter. She is happy and amiable with no expectations except a pleasant afternoon visiting. She's easy to get along with.
Other tips and tidbits: No records came with the pair, so the shelter has given them a birthdate of 6/24/2016, celebrating the day they first came in. The shelter personnel were told Chloe is about 8 and she looks and acts about that age.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
