My Story

Update from Chip's foster 12/14/06: Chip is the BEST dog!! He is sweet, affectionate, gentle -- a "people" dog. He is definitely a lap dog -- wants to be close to you -- or on you -- at all times. He is very overweight and needs to lose between 8-10 pounds asap, before it becomes a danger to his health. However, even with his weight, he is energetic and happy. He is housebroken, does not bark, does not chew, does not do anything bad at all!! He's good with other dogs, good with kids, and I imagine would be fine around cats.

Chip is going to make someone a wonderful friend -- I only hope they will cherish him as much as he deserves to be cherished! If you provide Chip with a home with lots of love, affection, petting, belly rubs and play, please send in an application!

Chip is approx. 7 years old as of September 2006 and a little chubby at 22 pounds. He and his playmate, Alex, are being surrendered by their owners because their owners do not have time to spend with them. Alex has applications pending, leaving Chip by himself after all these years.

Chip is in foster care.

This is what his owners said about him. Chip is very sweet and is housetrained. Chip has been fully vetted throughout his life and is used to being groomed. The owners say he does well with their 2 and 5 year old grandchildren and they think he will be fine with other children. Chip is Heartworm negative and is on HW preventative and has been frontlined.

All dogs will be tested for Heartworm prior to adoption. Almost Home Rescue will process your adoption. Applications can be found at www.almosthomerescue.net and can be e-mailed to Lonepine_AHR@yahoo for this particular dog.

These animals are in dire need of homes. If you cannot provide a home, sponsors are welcome and needed for heartworm treatment and/or other medical expenses for dogs coming to New England. Foster families are also needed from time to time. Fostering a healthy dog or one that is in treatment will also save lives!

We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $250.00 for altered dogs. $350. for unaltered puppies, with $100 refundable after spay/neuter. All Senior dogs 6 years or older have a reduced adoption fee of $200. (includes vaccinations, spay/neuter and transport from AR) For more information, please visit our webpage at www.almosthomerescue.net
