My Story

Chip is a white miniature schnauzer and is 9 years young. Chip was rescued from a puppy mill. Chip is a friendly, sweet little dog. He gets along with other dogs. He loves people and attention. Chip lost 17 teeth upon arriving in rescue! He has 6 teeth left and feels so much better. Chip will make a great companion!

Chip is neutered, utd shots, dewormed, heartworm tested and had a dental cleaning. His adoption donation is $200. We require an adoption application, references, adoption contract and home visit. We only adopt to families in SD, MN, NE, ND, IA.

Important things to know before you contact us:

If you are out of state, it does take time to process your application and find a home visitor from another rescue to do your visit. Please be SERIOUS about adopting a dog from our rescue before submitting an application.

The email address you're using is managed by one or two people. Please be patient.

The application is the first step. After we receive and approve a completed application, we will schedule a home visit.

Almost Home is run from foster homes. We have no facility for the public to come in and view pets.

We do not ship our dogs.

Thank you for wanting to adopt a homeless dog or cat!
