My Story

ADOPTED! - I sure hope there is somebody out there who will open their heart and home to me and my "sister" Candy..... I'm twelve years old and I've been Candy's big "brother" for the last nine years--since she was just a puppy. (She really depends on me to take care of her and to make her feel brave, and that makes ME feel good! So, our foster mom--because she doesn't want to separate us--is insisting that we be adopted as a pair.) Our previous owner moved to a place that doesn't allow pets, so....here we are--suddenly homeless--when other people's dogs are just settling in and getting lots of love and pampering as they approach their "golden" years..... It isn't OUR fault that we lost our home, and we are hoping and praying that somebody out there will see that we still have lots of love to give. We are both friendly, loving, cuddly, and we're even housebroken! I take a couple of pills twice a day to prevent seizures (which I used to have, before I started this medication) and Candy has a heart murmur that requires a daily pill. However, you'd never guess that either of us has a medical problem. We act healthy and peppy and full of life! We are looking for an adopter who will be home with us much of the time (we don't want to be "latchkey" dogs) and a safely fenced yard (no invisible fencing, please) would be great fun for us. But, remember.... we have spent out entire lives with each other, and--consequently--our foster mom is looking for someone to adopt us as a PAIR. If you can find it in your heart to consider adopting both of us and giving us the love that we deserve for many more years to come, please write to our foster mom at: [email protected] and describe your situation and lifestyle to her so that she can decide if you'd be a good fit for us. If she feels we'd be a good match for you--and you, for us--she will e-mail you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
