Best Guess for Age: 2.5 months as of 7/29/24 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 3.4 lbs as of 7/13/24 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs and cats so long as they receive patience and proper training. We would be cautious placing Chickadee in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: Texas shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom flight up here on Saturday 8/3! Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. We're not sure but we think Chickadee's vision might not be a perfect 20/20. We'll know more once she arrives in our care from the shelter. Chickadee is Looking For: Her forever home! Chickadee is just a small baby pup and all about what all puppies want - lots of snuggles and opportunities to explore. This tiny sweetie will grow up to be a small sweetie - and she would like her new family to know that she has dignity. She'd love to go on sniffy walks and explore the world - on her own four paws, please. Not as a passenger in a purse. It is the adopter's responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
