My Story
Me: Full-figured, but not fat. I love affection, but not cuddling so much. I eat more than I ought, so you need to keep an eye on that. I'm very loyal, VERY protective -- no bad people will come near you. Sometimes, however, I confuse who is bad and who is not -- some would call me over-protective. I am fearless and steady (all of us Cane Corsos are like that). Toward friendly strangers, I am generally friendly, unless they are carrying something (stick, bag, anything), then I'm on guard and I might even lunge at them to bite them; my owner keeps a close watch on me to protect me from getting myself into trouble like that. I hate squirrels and rabbits and small "dogs" -- those creatures which others think of as dogs but which I know are just other forms of small prey. I will go after them with intent of grabbing, killing, and eating, if I could. (Again, my owner protects me from myself in this area.) I live with a 25-lbs rat terrier, and I'm generally ok with him, though I am tempted to eat him sometimes. I sometimes wrestle with the other dog at home, a 50-lbs pittie mix, and that goes really well -- I don't play too rough for my size. I'm not well-suited for the dog park -- been there many times, and I just feel too uneasy around all those strange dogs. I'm on guard, you see. Therefore, I would love to have a fenced in yard, for I do like my exercise. If I had another large or medium sized dog to hang out with, that would be great. Kids, however... not so good with kids. I probably shouldn't be around small kids. If your kids brought friends over... not sure how I would react, I might be "unfriendly" toward them, and then what if there was no one to protect me from myself? I would fee terrible if I hurt one. I should also mention that I love my beauty sleep -- with so much beauty, I need lots. Because of the shape of my face, I drool a little after I drink, but that's it -- I don't drool when I'm just laying around, that's disgusting. Cats drool, dogs rule.
You: Ready for a big, steady dog that's a little inconvenient but loyal. Experience with large dogs a plus, bully breeds a must. Fenced yard? That would be great. Kids? Not so much. You need to be ready to keep a close watch on me whenever we are out in public. I will reward you with a big, wet, soft snout pushed into your hand when I need some lovin'.
