My Story

Cheyenne is a 2 yr old cream colored female standard poodle who is looking for a new forever home. Her owners are moving to FL, and are not able to take her with them. Cheyenne is a quiet girl who likes to cuddle. She is eager to please and will come on command. She is a very loyal girl who loves tennis balls and just relaxing on the couch. She is crate trained and house broken as long as she is not left too long. She needs to be with a family that will give her lots of love and attention. She sometimes has an interest in cats but when told to leave it she comes back to you. If you think this beautiful girl would be a good fit for your family please call Debbie at 740-610-8729 or fill out the application below. We require a fenced yard if there are kids under the age of 12 in the home.

Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

PLEASE, if you aren't willing to work with your new rescue and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of my dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog and hard on the rescuer. Go to a breeder if you want a cute little puppy that wags its tail when he sees you. He hasn't been through what a rescue dog has been through.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.
