Chewy (aka Chewbacca, aka Chu Chu) is a great canine companion that deserves a new chance at a forever home.
Chewy’s foster mom reports that, “He is the BEST foster dog I have ever had!”
Let us share his story!
Chewy is an extremely mellow for a large, one year old Hound mix. He is so sweet and loving to everyone he meets. He currently lives with other dogs and cats at his foster home – and he is doing really well. Chewy recently met some kids and he tolerated (could we say even enjoyed?) their hugging and kissing, even kissed them in return! Chewy just loves to play with his dog siblings (he does much better with female dogs), romping outside and just hanging around in canine company pleases him. He can be curious with cats, but mainly he just sniffs them, stares at them, and then walks away.
Chewy is mostly house-trained, but we ask that you help remind him of his house-training habits after adoption. There always is a transition period when dogs switch homes, so please be aware he may need a few reminders. Chewy loves treats and his squeaky toy – which is the only thing he will chew on.
He would make a great hiking, camping, running partner as he loves to go for walks and spend time outside on pleasant days in his fenced-in back yard. Surprisingly, Chewy is not your typical vocal Hound; he has been pretty quiet at his foster home. His foster mom reports a few whines here and there, but once he’s got a hang of the new household routine he will settle in just fine.
Chewy's adoption fee is $125, which includes her spay surgery and vaccinations (parvo/distemper and rabies.)
