My Story

Hello, my name’s Chet! My hero is the nice Animal Control Officer who rescued me from an abusive owner that kept me chained and beat on me to vent his frustrations with life. I was starved, shaky, scared and scheduled to be euthanized but my quiet, calm and gentle demeanor convinced the shelter that I deserved another chance at life. When they saw how nice I am to other dogs, they sent me to a wonderful foster home where my mind, body and spirit could heal. It worked! I’ve learned that humans can be really nice so that I can trust them, that I love to run and play with toys in the yard or quietly lay around chewing on my bone, and how nice it is to take a nap in the sun or shade ~ whichever I choose. I even get to come inside because I’m completely house and crate trained and always mind my manners… easy enough for these kind of rewards! The food’s sure good too, I’ve put on weight so my ribs don’t show anymore and everyone says my fur is so healthy ~ wow, imagine that! My foster Mom says I’m her “best boy” because I’m so happy to do whatever she asks and tells everyone how proud she is of me for my well-mannered, easygoing personality. I’m just grateful to be loved and safe, it’s easy to be a good boy when all the people you meet are so kind! My dream is to find a quiet forever home where I can be the only dog for a special person(s) who’ll enjoy the love I’ll offer in return! If you’d like to be that person just email Kris at [email protected]. Adoption application required, initial application process is a phone interview. Call Kris at 505-350-6082. Vital stats: Chet is a 2 year old, full grown 70 lb. neutered male American Pit Bull Terrier, who is up-to-date with all routine shots, preventatives and microchipped. Chet’s $150 adoption fee includes his neuter, de-worming, heartworm test, complete vaccine series, first month of heartworm and Frontline preventatives, microchip and basic behavior training ~ he’s a gentle soul and a ready made family pet who’s more than earned his own home!
