Chester and Ruger can be adopted together or seperately.
Chester is the black one, born Nov 3, 2003, supposedly full-blood lab, but he's tall. New owner must agree to neuter upon adoption. This will be paid for by current owner. He is rambunctious, friendly, follows basic commands and is careful around my 3 yr old. Loves to retrieve. Has been in a dog run for two years and previous to that, was in a large yard in the city. He has not been allowed to run free ever but does not jump fences. When we let only one of them out, he is the one we trust the most b/c he doesn't stray far and always comes when called.
Ruger is the liver colored border collie/german shepherd cross, kind of looks like a kelpie. He was born around July of 2002. He is incredibly intelligent and energetic but when he's on leash, he's very well trained and attentive. If he is put on cruddy dog food, he tends to break out in a rash so we keep him on Avoderm most of the time and he looks great. He's overweight right now. He does tend to wander but always comes back. These pictures of him are from when we first moved here from Nebraska and he was shedding his undercoat as well as having a small allergic reaction. His coat is much nicer now and he doesn't look so scruffy.
Both dogs have been outside dogs mostly since 2006 when our first son was born. BOTH would do fine inside, but I recommend crating them at night. Neither dog has been around farm animals and I would assume they'd be okay with livestock (with Ruger doing some herding) but not so sure about chickens or ducks, etc. They do seem to do well with other dogs after an introduction and some leader establishment. Our oldest son has played with them regularly since 18 months old and when they hear him outside, they go crazy b/c they like him so much.
