My Story

Here's one dog who deserves a chance, but would be overlooked by most. Chester is a sweet, attention-hogging, doe-eyed Chow mix, about 8 years old and 65 pounds, who we found shivering at a gas station one freezing day in January. He was huddled into a tiny ball and had spiders and webs all over his coat. We brought him home. He tested heartworm positive and was successfully treated for them. He is a very friendly, loving fellow who will stay right by your side and not let you move an inch without him! He gets along very well with other female dogs and some younger males. (No chance to observe his behavior with cats.) He is a family dog for sure. Chester seems to have claustrophobia because he busts out of kennels or any place where he is confined. (We have had to repair about 4 kennels because of this!) When he busted out, though, he came right up onto the porch, so we think that he just doesn't like to be in a small space. Chester will be neutered before he leaves our shelter.
