My Story

ADOPTED! - Meet Chester! He's the sweetest little guy--very low key, happy, and loving! Take one look at this fellow and we guarantee he will make you smile! Chester is supposed to be a purebred Yorkie, but we think he looks like he might be part Norwich Terrier. He is 6 yrs. old and he came to us from a puppy mill in Missouri. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to have the emotional "baggage" that many puppy mill dogs come with. He is friendly, cuddly, and well adjusted, and he loves the company of other dogs, so we would like to place him with an adopter who has another small dog for him to play with. Chester would like a safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing) and he doesn't want to be a latchkey dog, so an adopter who works just part time, is retired, or works out of his/her home would be ideal. Chester is good with children but because he only weighs eleven pounds (and could probably stand to lose a little), we would prefer that he not be adopted by a family with young children because he might be inadvertently injured. Chester is working on his housebreaking skills and is doing well, but he still has an occasional accident so he would need a patient, understanding owner who is willing to continue working with him. Chester has been neutered, wormed, immunized, microchipped, and heartworm tested--and his adoption fee is $275. If you are interested in possibly adopting Chester, please first send us a "cover letter" describing yourself, your family/work situation, if you have a fenced yard and/or other pets, etc. (Our e-mail address is: [email protected]) Then, if we feel you would be a good fit for Chester (and we all agree that Chester would be a good fit for you) we will e-mail you an application to fill out.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" above the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name above this dog's photo) before contacting us.
