**Birthdate:** March 2022 Cheshire is a brave and spirited dog with a unique story of resilience and determination. Born with a cleft palate, Cheshire faced a challenging start in life. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of a compassionate veterinarian, Cheshire was bottle-fed and nursed back to health, defying the odds from the very beginning. Cheshire found a loving home, but life took an unexpected turn when his adoptive family had to move and couldn't take him along. Once again, the caring vet who saved his life stepped in, ensuring Cheshire would not be left behind. Recognizing that Cheshire needed a forever family who could cater to his special needs, the vet reached out to It’s a Pittie Rescue. Now in his third chance at life, Cheshire is thriving in a wonderful foster home. His cleft palate requires some specific care: he must stick to hard food and tough toys, as soft foods and fluffy toys can cause complications. Thankfully, Cheshire is perfectly happy with his crunchy meals and sturdy playthings. Cheshire's ideal home is one with calmer dogs who can understand his need for slow introductions. While he enjoys the company of both big and small dogs, overly exuberant playmates can be a bit intimidating for him. Once he gets to know you, Cheshire is an affectionate companion who loves to cuddle on the couch and spend quality time in the backyard with his people. Despite his rough start, Cheshire's loving heart and gentle spirit make him a wonderful addition to a patient and understanding home.
