Meet Cheetos! This 2-year-old Yorkshire Terrier weighs just 6 lbs. At the risk of sounding dangerously cheesy, we'd say Cheetos is a pretty special guy who is just looking for a family who love him as much as he will love them.
General Behavior: Cheetos works very well on a routine of meals (2x/day), play, and rest He's very sweet and timid with strangers and is OK with teenagers. He will quickly warm up when he realizes that you are a loving human. He is still working on trusting humans to pick him up: he runs away when he knows you'll be picking him up, unless he's in his bed; then he will let you pick him up. These days, he likes to lie beside the couch or to lie in his foster's lap, especially if you cuddle him with a special blanket! He plays independently, and is still getting used to having his own toys.
Likes & Dislikes: Cheetos loves to play "run, run, run!" in the backyard, so a grassy, securely fenced yard would be fun for him. At night, he's content to lie next to his humans on the couch and watch TV.
Training: Cheetos is a smart cookie who is learning his training fast! He is housetrained if let out frequently. He is still working on leash-walking, but he likes a car ride.
Medical: Cheetos is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.
Other Animals: Cheetos would benefit from a home with another a small dog to be a good playmate (and teacher) for him. He hasn't been observed around cats, but his foster does not think they'd get on.
Children: Tiny, shy Cheetos needs a home with gentle, understanding teens or adults only.
Home: Cheetos would do well in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart's content.
Grooming: As a Yorkie, Cheetos will need brushing several times a week plus professional grooming every 6 weeks. The good news is, he loves being groomed!
Overall: Cheetos is really sweet and has a great future ahead for himself if he finds a patient, loving home.
