We think that Charle was "surviving" because people in the camp ground fed him on weekends but he likely had to fend for himself during the week. Charlie welcomed the food and fresh water, along with a warm crate to sleep in at night. He was a very good boy and did not mess his crate, he slept quietly until it was time to go out in the morning. He does well on leash and lets the 4 year old take him for walks. Chalie absolutely loves to be cuddled, belly rubs and attention. He is exceptional with children. We think he is about 7-8 months of age. He looks like he has some beagle in him with his lovely expressive face but there is also some husky in their too.
UPDATE: We found out that Charlie has 2-3 healed fractures of his pelvis, a poorly healed fracture of his femur (upper leg) and a healed fracture of his tibia (lower leg). He must have been run over and managed to survive all of this on his own. Charlie will be having surgery to removed some of the pieces of femur that are making him painful at the moment. Once they are removed we think he will do MUCH better. This surgery is going to cost us $1200. You can help sponsor Charlie by making a donation. If you help Charlie it means we can help other dogs at a later date.
