Having had a few dogs growing
up, I
am the ultimate dog lover. Old, young, big, small, fat or thin – they
are all
wonderful even when they roll in foul smelling goo. After moving to the
west
coast, I finally decided I was at a place in my life where I could
start
looking for a dog of my own. I started looking on petfinder and trading
emails
with a rescue called Mikey’s Chance in eastern Washington.
I set an appointment to meet a few dogs, and although the first few
dogs I met
were not for me, Charlie was a perfect little angel that I just had to
have! He
walked over to me very gently, put his paw on my shoulder, sniffed my
face, and
cuddled right up to me as I sat on the ground, looking at me with his
beautiful
amber eyes. Right then I knew he was perfect, and the rest is history.
I want to let you know that
Charlie is doing really well. He has
mastered sit, turn, and rollover, as well as his signature "dance"
move. Very cute. He comes to work with me almost every day. Sometimes
goes to doggie daycare if I have a very busy day. Like I have mentioned
before he has some separation anxiety, but I have left him alone for
about an hour and a half twice in the past few days and he has been
just fine. I think he is getting settled in!!!
Charlie is a sleepy cuddly boy
who
loves to… sleep and cuddle! He also enjoys chewing nylabones, eating
beef jerky
and learning new tricks. He is a very well behaved little man who loves
to come
to work with me, and play chase with his canine friends at the dog
park. He has
come a long way from the little boy who was a stray in Pasco,
WA and is now a beautiful
good-looking man
who makes my life complete. Thank you so much to Mikey’s Chance for
giving me
the opportunity to give a forever home to such a wonderful little
munchkin!
