One-and-a half year old Charlie has a kindly soft open face with gentle brown eyes that are windows to his good-natured soul. Charlie came to us from a rural area with no shelter where there is seldom a happy ending for lost dogs. A Good Samarian intervened and got this sweet boy to us. A tall lanky 55 pounds, he has a task all Labs envy – he’s free to gain some weight! He’d be perfect at 65 pounds.

Charlie is a pleasantly active youngster who’s a bit reserved when he first meets you, but quickly warms up. He’s crate trained, takes care of “business” outside, is a polite greeter and is looking forward to learning some commands. Charlie is a sensitive boy who may not have always been treated kindly. He’s afraid of a loud, raised voice and many things are new to him.

He’s the darling of his doggie day care and absolutely loves all people and dogs. “Charlie gets along with every single dog he meets and is always deferential to his playmates; he’s such a good boy you hardly know he’s here!” raved a staffer. He’s a non-stop player who seems to say, “Aw gee, do I really have to take a nap now?” He loves people too and is happy to lie or sit on top of their feet and snuggle up whenever he can.” He hasn’t shown much interest in the cats he’s seen.

For fun, besides romping with his buddies and snuggling, Charlie loves playing in the water. He’ll take a break now and then and enjoy a good chew on his plastic water bowl and bones.
