My Story

Are you looking for that wonderful dog? Look no further, Charles is your guy. Animal Control picked him up and a neighbor recognized him on the website and sent in the following information about him. He's a very sweet dog that was in a difficult situation, as he spent most of his time in a cage in the back yard with minimal attention. He wasn't abused at all, just neglected. They moved next door to the property Charles resided on last summer and their service dog liked to wander over to his cage to greet him, and they got along well. Over the last couple months, the owner let him out to play and the two dogs hit it off and played a lot. Charles would also wander into their home to relax - one of the kind humans was disabled and has walking issues, but never had any issues with Charles, he just asked her for a lot of pets. The neighbor believes he'll get along with most playful, non-temperamental dogs and kind people. He just needs a home where he gets the attention he deserves and can maybe even have the opportunity to play harmoniously with another dog. He's such a sweet dog, and they hope he can find a loving home soon! During playgroups, he was both springy and silly, he had a blast playing with both males and females. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at [email protected] with the subject line "Charles 249250". He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats in the home, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Charles has heartworms but it's treatable and not contagious. To help with the medical cost, a $400 sponsorship for treatment is provided by Friends of Wake County Animal Center. Email [email protected] for more information. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 45lbs Age: 3yrs 3mths 0wks
